Show concepts

Aside from traditional Bellydance performances, Shiva and his group can incorporate folkloric Egyptian, Lebanese and Khaleegy (Gulf) styles.

Below left: Egyptian Saidi entrances. This can be incorporated when walking the bride and groom into the reception as part of the Zaffeh (entrance) or into the bellydance performance itself.

Below right: Khaleegy. This traditional dance comes from such countries as Emirates,Saudi Arabia,Yemen, Bahrain etc. Girls are covered in long dresses to display their sublime designs and flick their hair fom side to side as a show of beauty. Men wear dressed in Thobes, igaal, ghutra's and carry daggers. Theirs is a warrior dance and also incorporates swords.

Live Drummers

An exciting introduction to Bellydance performance, live drummers highten every show  with their pulsating rythyms and beats. Accompanying the dancers there are usually two Tabal players (Tabal being the large arabic drum). This is somewhat  a new idea and has always been enthusiastically recieved.

Below are two of Sydney's most accomplished Tabal players, Khodar of Zaffet Kodar and Rhonda of Malkat El Tabal.

Shiva's solo performances showcase his amazing technique and control and are enhanced by his mastery of a range of spectacular props including veils, Isis wings, swords, Egyptian cane and live snakes. View a clip of Shiva performing.
