Career highlights

Based in Sydney, Australia, Shiva has performed at hundreds of local events such as weddings, parties, nightclubs, restaurants and the annual Sydney Middle Eastern Dance Festival.

In August 2006 Shiva was invited to Turkey by acclaimed Turkish dancer, Tanyeli, to teach contestants in the top rating Turkish television show Oryantal Star (like "Australian Idol", but for belly dancers). Shiva taught the contestants Indian and Egyptian styles - a rewarding challenge - and performed in two episodes of the show. While in Turkey Shiva also performed at the grand opening of the Istanbul Formula One Grand Prix at the Reina Club, Istanbul. Shiva, accompanied by five drummers, danced on a stage overlooking the Bosphorus to a star-studded audience of 2,000 people including celebrities such as Carmen Electra and Missy Elliot.
